Description EphA2 protein (Ephrin type-A receptor 2) is a receptor tyrosine kinase belonging to the Eph receptor family. This protein plays an important role in cell adhesion, cell migration, cell proliferation, and cell-cell communication by interacting with its ligands, ephrin-A molecules, between cells and cell-cell interactions.

EphA2 protein is involved in important processes during development, including neuronal migration, synapse formation, and cell-cell interactions. In adult cells, EphA2 protein is widely recognized to be closely associated with the occurrence and progression of cancer. It can regulate the proliferation, invasion, and metastasis of tumor cells, promote angiogenesis, and thus impact tumor growth and malignant transformation.

Abnormal expression of EphA2 protein is closely related to the occurrence and development of various tumors, such as breast cancer, lung cancer, and prostate cancer. Therefore, studying the role of EphA2 protein in cancer, exploring its potential as a therapeutic target for cancer treatment, has become a hot topic in cancer research field.
